Assessor

Maintain the Town Assessment Roll in an accurate and equitable manner

Audit & Control

Provides financial management information to the Chief Fiscal Officer (the Supervisor) and the Town Board as well as to provide the legally required audit function

Building & Housing

The Building Division is charged with the responsibility of administering the building permit process to ensure that all building construction activity complies with state and local code requirements. Their functions include the review of building and site plans, issuance of building permits and Certificates of Occupancy, and inspection of building construction activity as it progresses.

Citizen Services

To serve as liaisons between the residents and members of the Town Board.

Cultural Affairs

Serves as the Town's liaison with public and private agencies and individuals in the planning and promotion of cultural activities in the community, including monitoring of the Town's contracts with such agencies.

Emergency Preparedness

Emergency preparedness information and resources for our residents, businesses, and visitors.

Engineering Services

To oversee the operation of various divisions such as: Building Department, Fire Prevention and the Dix Hills Water District. To provide design and construction services for Town Capital Projects.

Environmental Waste Mgmt

Residential trash pick up, recycling and management of the Huntington and Centerport Sewer Districts

General Services

Administers the vital functions, routine maintenance and repair as well as emergency repairs for the wide and varied types of town owned facilities, including Town Hall, Parks, Village Green Complex, Hart Bus Operations, municipal and commuter parking lots, historic cemeteries, vehicle maintenance and repair, mail and messenger services, printing and maintainance.

HART Bus

Huntington Area Rapid Transit (HART) is a municipal transit agency that provides public transportation services within the Town of Huntington. HART operates regularly-scheduled, fixed-route buses for the general public as well as paratransit for disabled persons and non-driving, senior citizen residents who cannot use services offered to the general public.

Historian

Coordinates the Town's historic preservation efforts, including administrative support for the Historic Preservation Commission, management of the Town's historic properties, and liaison with historical organizations throughout the Town.

Human Services

The mission of the Department and its divisions is to administer, develop, manage, coordinate and deliver programs to residents.

Human Services - Handicap Services

Offers information about programs offered by county, state and private agencies; advocates for residents with disabilities and offers advice and support with American with Disabilities Act Compliance; offers referrals for help from other organizations and agencies.

Human Services - Minority Affairs

Responsible for maintaining a good working relationship with leaders of minority organizations, acting as liaison to the minority community and advising the Town Board of the concerns of that community.

Human Services - Senior Citizens Division

The Senior Citizens Division is charged with delivering services, Providing support and advocacy, acting as liaison and reporting concerns of the senior community to the Town Board.

Human Services - Veterans

To represent the Veterans in the Town of Huntington and to act as a liaison to the Town board in conveying the concerns of those Veterans.

Human Services - Women's Program

Offers support and information for women; advocates and acts as liaison to the Town Board for women.

Huntington Youth Bureau

Promoting the growth, development and well-being of all youth in the Town of Huntington.

Huntington's 350th Anniversary Celebration

To foster town-wide appreciation of Huntington’s rich and diverse history through a year-long celebration in 2003 of the 350th Anniversary of its founding.

Information Technology

The Department of Information Technology mission is to oversee and implement, data and telecommunications systems for the operating Departments and divisions of the Town of Huntington.

Maritime Services

To promote boating safety, maintain a clean, safe waterfront environment, provide a quick response to emergency and rescue situations, control the orderly flow of marine traffic and protect and regulate the shell fishing industry

Parks & Recreation-Golf Courses

Crab Meadow an 18 Hole par 72 Golf Course located in Northport. Dix Hills Golf Course an executive 9 hole located in Dix Hills Park.

Parks & Recreation-Skate Board Park

9,200 square feet Skate Park for Skateboarders, In-line Skaters and BMX Bikers with boxes, ramps, rails, wedges,quarter pipes and half pipes ranging up to eight feet in height.

Personnel Office

The Personnel Office is responsible for employee benefits administration as well as processing all information related to employment with the Town of Huntington.

Planning & Environment

To conduct reviews and keep records pertaining to land use decision making by the Town Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals as well as the Parks, Highway and Engineering Departments.

Public Safety

To coordinate public safety, inspection and enforcement functions of the Town of Huntington.

Purchasing Division

The Purchasing Division of the Department of Audit & Control is charged with the responsibility of assisting departments with the purchase of goods and services.

Receiver of Taxes

Is responsible for keeping the tax assessment roll and warrant delivered by the Suffolk County Legislature until its delivery to the Suffolk County Treasurer and to collect taxes and assessments levied in the Town and upon any warrants received

Superintendent of Highways

Include resident request, safety of residents & public steps, pavement management, tree management, drainage management, street sweeping, leaf bag distribution.

Supervisor

The Supervisor is the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Fiscal Officer and head of the administrative branch of Town Government.

Town Attorney

Act as the attorney for the Town Board and all the Town Officers in their official capacity and as legal counsel and representative of the Town Board

Town Clerk

To have custody of all the records, books and papers of the Town. To also be the registrar of vital statistics

Town Council

The office of the Town Council handles all official business for the four elected members of the Town Council.

Transportation and Traffic Safety

The Department of Transportation and Traffic Safety is responsible for promoting the safe and efficient movement of people and goods over the Town's roadway network.
